Robin Sells is Katherine’s mother and co-founder of Katherine’s Light Foundation. Robin is committed to keeping the memory of Katherine; a vibrant, intelligent and beautiful young woman, alive by adopting her determination to raise funds through the foundation to promote awareness, research, treatments and a cure for NET cancer. Robin will assist in meeting these goals in collaboration with the Neuroendocrine Tumor Research Foundation (NETRF) and other local non-profits that serve the needs of cancer patients and their families.
Larry SellsCo-Founder
Larry Sells is Katherine’s stepfather and the founder of the Katherine’s Light Foundation, LLC, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Through his longstanding community connections and sharp business sense, Larry has helped raise over one million dollars for various local non-profits. He and Robin have dedicated themselves to honoring Katherine’s memory by raising money to fight Neuroendocrine Tumor (NET) cancer through increased awareness and dedicated research. While the foundation’s primary goal is funding NET cancer research, it will also support other local area non-profits that provide programs that assist those dealing with cancer diagnoses. As Larry always says, “No one fights alone!”
Matt MeullerDirector
Katherine was my high school sweatheart, loving wife, and my best friend. During Katherine’s inspirational battle against Neuroendocrine Tumors (NETs), she made it her mission to raise funds for NET cancer research and to increase awareness of the often misdiagnosed disease. I am eager to carry on her mission.

Jessica TinordiTreasurer
Katherine encouraged community engagement that spread wider and further than any of us could have imagined. Her events gained widespread attention that influenced leaders in the medical community to conduct ground breaking research to better understand and treat NET cancer. I joined the Katherine’s Light Foundation to support and continue Katherine’s vision, to increase awareness of NET cancer, to encourage discussions that might allow others with cancer to be diagnosed more quickly, and to support research efforts that may lead to a cure.
Susan PaysonSecretary
In 2019, Susan Payson, then NETRF’s chief development officer, met and worked with Katherine and her family on their first fundraiser that benefitted NETRF (the neuroendocrine tumor research foundation). The Mueller/Sells family set the record as the top family fundraiser when the event raised nearly $75,000 for NET research and they continue to raise significant funds for NETRF today. Susan is honored to join Katherine’s foundation and serve as the board’s secretary and resident fundraiser. A seasoned philanthropy professional, Susan has worked primarily in the healthcare industry where she has raised millions of dollars during her decades-long career. She has been worked for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Northeast Health Foundation, NETRF and Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital among other institutions and nonprofit organizations.
Sandy McWilliamsDirector
I have always loved the way Katherine led her life with so much optimism and joy for living. Even when battling a dreaded killer, she smiled, laughed, and elevated the mood of those around her. If the Foundation can encourage others to see the good things in life, it will be a better world for all of us. I have always considered Katherine to be a modern day Saint!
Amanda ShieldsDirector
My name is Amanda Shields and Katherine was one of my best friends. Katherine brought light to everyone around her and I can’t wait to continue to spread her light in honor of her.
